Awarded 1st place in Boston University School of Hospitality Administration’s Global Hospitality Real Estate Competition, an international case competition challenging student teams to act as real estate developers and propose an innovative, realistic, financially viable master plan for a 3.5-acre development site in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. The proposal required market and site analysis, land use planning, hospitality programming, development phasing, financial modeling, valuation, and presentation to industry judges.
Our team proposed The Westward Hotel & Residences, a modern “cowboy luxury” mixed-use hospitality development combining a 170-key boutique hotel, 50 branded residences, several retail spaces including an 18,000 SF food market, and a variety of amenity spaces for guests and members. The concept centered on creating an authentic, place-driven destination rooted in Texas culture, with elevated F&B, wellness, event space, retail activation, and branded residential ownership designed to support the Stockyards’ evolution from a tourism district into a mixed-use neighborhood.
